Work Programme Failing to Meet the Needs of Older Jobseekers, says Report

Age UK has published a report on older people’s experience of the Work Programme, based on the latest available data released by the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) covering the period June 2011 to March 2013. Long term unemployment – typically defined as being out of work for 12 months or longer – is one of the most serious problems facing the over 50s in today’s labour market.
