Employment Growth Overshadowed by Slow Income Growth @TAEN_UK

The latest employment figures released this week by the Office for National Statistics show more people in work than ever before, with almost 30 million people now in employment. This historic high meant the employment rate for those aged 16-64 rose by 0.3 per cent to 71.7 per cent, and indicated a growing confidence amongst employers as more firms start hiring again. There was also a small fall in unemployment (down 18,000 on the previous three months and down 40,000 on the same time last year) to 2.49 million.
