'Godfather of Retail' Wins Age Discrimination Case

One of the City of London’s best known trade analysts has won his age discrimination case after his former employer, Credit Suisse, was found to have acted in a “discriminatory and unfair way”. Tony Shiret claimed the bank targeted him because of his age and favoured younger colleagues, when he was selected for redundancy in 2011 after 18 years with his employer. He successfully argued that the redundancy procedure was “pre-selected without any consultation, weighted against me and inherently unfair”.
