Jury Age to Rise to 75 as Older Peoples' Contributions Recognised

The Ministry of Justice has today announced that the upper age limit of jurors in England and Wales is to rise from 70 to 75. The announcement was welcomed by older peoples’ organisations and is part of a drive to make the criminal justice system more inclusive and reflect the ageing population, with those aged 65 and over now accounting for 16 per cent (or 10.4 million) of the UK’s population.
