Older Londoners contribute an impressive £53 billion to the economy, a new report commissioned by the Mayor of London has revealed. ‘The Economic Contribution of Older Londoners’ produced by GLA Economics suggests that Londoners aged 50 and over contribute just as much to society, if not more, than they receive, dispelling stereotypes that older people are a burden on the public purse.
