The latest figures charting the state of the UK’s labour market and published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) this week show an additional 80,000 people in work, compared to the previous three months. There was also a fall of 24,000 in the number of people out of work, and fewer people claiming out-of-work benefits, which dropped by 32,600 in August compared with July, to 1.402 million – the lowest level since February 2009. Furthermore, job vacancies increased by 7,000 between June and August to 531,000. This increase was down to a large rise in private sector roles (114,000)…
