Falls Awareness Week survey

Lady with cup of tea

As part of activities during Falls Awareness Week we would like to build up a picture of falls 'hot-spots' across the outdoor areas in Scotland.  Age Scotland is working with researchers from the University of Edinburgh and Glasgow Caledonian University, and with the Scottish Ambulance Service, to get a better understanding of the causes of outdoor falls.

Falls are common events in the lives of older people in the UK and can result in a range of adverse outcomes, from minor bruises, through to fractures, disability and even death. Outdoor falls are very common, with over 2.5 million people saying they have fallen over on a street pavement at some point during their lifetime.

If you've had an outdoor fall in the last year, the researchers would be grateful if you would complete this brief online survey.  It will only take a few minutes and the survey is completed anonymously.

Further information on the current research being undertaken by the two universities can be found on the GoFar website.
