How to build a shed @agescotland

Interest has been bubbling away in the Borders in developing a Men's Shed and in the spirit of sharing, we at Age Scotland thought that it would be good to take a visit to a member group who had already set up could share their experience, advice and top tips so we took a trip out to East Lothian.

"The main concept is to create social interaction by working shoulder to shoulder on a variety of creative projects initiated by the men of the Shed. Men who are primarily retired and have common interests, want to learn new skills, mentor others and be in men's company come to the shed." – Jason Schroeder, 'Shedder' at Westhill Men's Shed, Aberdeenshire

David Jefferies from East Lothian council said on seeing the video "It’s amazing what some of the men have said about it to the camera that they haven’t told us!!"

A massive thanks to the Shedders of Macmerry, Lesley and David. We look forward to finding out how they are going to spend their Age Scotland grant!
